Yup that is right, a new favorite and a new review. Once upon a time my boyfriend and I meandered into Lordsburg, which is on D street in downtown La Verne. This was about a year ago and we were looking for some place different to try. On that visit there were not a lot of customers. The place seemed wide open and lacking character really. We ordered and had a couple beers and to be quite honest just wasn’t feeling it. The food was so-so, service was slow for not being crowded and atmosphere kinda cold.

Skip forward to current day. I was researching online places that had live music during the day on weekends. Finding there is not much out there, which by the way, if you own a pub or bar or grille of some sort, live music on weekend days would be a plus. Anyway, I came across Lordsburg Taphouse & Grill once more as a place that had live music on Sunday afternoons. Thinking to myself hmmm, I believe this is the place that we were not all that impressed about, but not finding anything else close enough suggested to my boyfriend we give it another try. So we headed out.
Much different experience this time. The place was almost packed, even the outdoor patio which is on the side of the restaurant, was busy. As we walked in noticed a small stage up front and looked like was set up for a band to play. We grabbed a table, checked out there specials and realized that not only do they have music on Sundays, they do other fun things thru out the week. Karaoke, Pub quiz, live music and some nice happy hour specials. Since it was mimosa Sunday, that is what I ordered and Jimmy ordered a beer on tap. Had never noticed before, but they have quite a selection of beer on tap, for all you who love specialty beers. We also ordered some BBQ pork sliders that came with beer battered onion rings to share.
Once we had ordered the band came on stage and started playing. I would call it a country blues band. Very good. Asking our waitress if they were the house band or if they switched bands out, she explained that this was there first time there and she loved them and most definitely would have them in the rotation. So no house band, which I kinda prefer. Who wants to listen to the same music every week?

So the food came and was excellent, the prices were good, the music was fun and the atmosphere was loud, but lively. I would highly recommend for anyone to give this place a try and if you are into Trivia check it out on Tequila Tuesdays, it starts at 8 pm.
